Alfredo Morelos: No offer made after Lille talks with Rangers

Alfredo Morelos: No offer made after Lille talks with Rangers”

Alfredo Morelos is on the verge of leaving Rangers and joining Lille.

Lille have zeroed in on Morelos and, according to French radio station RMC, have found an agreement with the Colombia global.

Last year Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson reportedly told the Oceania Rangers Supporters Association (ORSA) convention in New Zealand that the club rated Morelos at at least the same value as Moussa Dembele, who left Celtic for Lyon in a £19.7m deal in August 2018.

It has been reported that Rangers are now in talks with the Ligue 1 club over the transfer of the Colombia global striker.

Morelos has made a major impact since he joined Rangers from HJK Helsinki in 2017.

The Colombian striker has scored 77 goals in 137 appearances, putting himself in the shop window for a big move.

Although his current contract at Rangers runs until 2023, Morelos could soon depart.

And after weeks of speculation and on the eve of the new Scottish Premiership season, he finally appears to be on his way from Ibrox. We're actively looking to strengthen in that area.

"Wherever we play Joe he always tries to make things happen,"was quoted by RTE Sport".

"In terms of where we are at from a financial point of view, they are questions for other people. At the moment, we still need to get people in the door".

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said after Saturday's 2-0 friendly win against visitors Coventry City he did not have "enough options" up front and was not looking for a "short term" recruit in attack.
