Dueling Armed Militias Congregate in Louisville

Dueling Armed Militias Congregate in Louisville”

Shots rang out and left three members of the "Not F*cking Around Coalition" (NFAC) Militia, a Black militia organization, injured at a protest Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky. Locally, demonstrations have focused on the police killing of Breonna Taylor who was gunned down in her home during a raid in March.

Scores of the demonstrators, carrying semi-automatic rifles and shotguns and clad in black paramilitary gear, walked in formation to a fenced off intersection where they were separated by police from a smaller group of armed counter-protesters.

Louisville Metro Police have said three people have been transported to the hospital after being struck by gunfire at the NFAC demonstration at Baxter Square Park.

In Louisville on Saturday, three members of the group were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries when a weapon was accidentally discharged, police said.

"I believe that everyone should exercise the utmost responsibility when handling firearms, but then again, we're dealing with humans who make mistakes", Johnson told ABC News. Calls for a national reckoning over racism and police brutality intensified following the deaths of Taylor and George Floyd in Minneapolis. "This is nothing new". And if we don't get justice.it will also influence the entire country.

The only confrontation among the competing groups appeared to occur earlier Saturday when white militia members and Black Lives Matter activists yelled at each other over the police barricades.
