Harry and Meghan book lifts lid on bitter split with family”

The book, set to be released next month, paints a dark picture of the palace behind-the-scenes amid Harry and Meghan's monumental "Megxit", with insiders claiming that the "establishment" was in fear that the Duchess of Sussex's massive popularity "might eclipse that of the royal family itself".

Harry and Meghan's decision to cut free grew out of Harry's belief they were unprotected by the institutions around the monarchy and derided by the old guard for being too sensitive and outspoken, the book claims.

Back in 2017, during an interview following their engagement news, Prince Harry and Meghan shared the details of the proposal, but it appears they may have lied about Prince Harry's proposal.

According to Finding Freedom, the Duke of Sussex felt the Prince of Wales put the British public's opinions of him above anything else.

"When she arrived in the prince's life, one senior royal referred to the American actress as "Harry's showgirl", the book says.

The book claims that Harry and Meghan would be told to hold off on their projects until Prince Williams or Prince Philip made announcements of their own endeavors.

Four months after they left the Royal Family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have the new life in Los Angeles they wanted but it was not achieved without putting huge strains on Harry's relationship with his family.

"There were just a handful of people working at the palace they could trust", the authors write.

Those present were "puzzled" at reports Meghan's "strict demands" had left Kate in tears and a source who was there said: "Some of the children weren't co-operating, and there was a lot going on".

"Everyone tried to help where they could, but it's never easy with kids at fittings".

The book also suggests that Kate Middleton and Meghan never became friends - while the Duchess of Sussex was "disappointed" she never reached out to her or visited.

"And in the end, the fitting was fine".

Meghan is suing Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, over articles which featured parts of a "private and confidential" letter from the duchess to her estranged father, Thomas Markle.

According to PEOPLE, Meghan, who has impeccable handwriting and was once a freelance calligrapher, wrote out their wedding speech and framed it for Harry for their first anniversary in 2019. "Their relationship hadn't progressed much since she was Harry's girlfriend". "I really believe that he's the victim, and now I feel sad because I believe he's been fully corrupted".

The door has been left ajar for the couple to re-evaluate their decision next March, but at this stage it is thought any future negotiations will take place over email, rendering a second "Sandringham summit" surplus to requirements.

The authors describe a culture of increasing tension between the Sussexes and other members of the royal family.

The biography has been written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand on their own experiences as members of the royal press and their reporting.

"They wanted a situation where they were doing some royal duties and becoming independent financially and that would have involved commercial endorsements and there were problems there".
