Health Minister reports 26 new COVID-19 cases in Ottawa Sunday

Ontario reported 137 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, one less than the previous day's total, according to Health Minister Christine Elliott. It was also reported that four more people died since Saturday morning, bringing the total number of people dead to 2,763.

There are now 87 COVID-19 patients in Ontario hospitals.

"Locally, 27 of 34 (Public Health Units) are reporting five or fewer cases, with 14 of them reporting no new cases".

While updating the hospitalization counts in Ontario on Sunday, health officials said approximately 30 hospitals did not submit data on Friday.

Excluding those, there were 29 patients in intensive care and 21 of those were breathing with a ventilator. Fourteen of those regions recorded zero cases.

The province's network of labs completed more than 26,000 COVID-19 tests on Saturday, Elliott said in a tweet.

Nine of the new reported cases are among children in the 0-9 years old category.

There are now 18,000 tests under investigation in the province.
