Mike Tyson, 54, to make boxing comeback in September

Mike Tyson, 54, to make boxing comeback in September”

Speaking earlier this week, Jones Jr, who spent nearly a decade at cruiserweight before winning the WBU German version of a title in his last fight in 2018, hinted at the potential matchup.

He had one last chance at the heavyweight crown, losing to Britain's Lennox Lewis in 2002, and retired after six rounds against Kevin McBride in 2005 in his final fight, days shy of his 39 bithday.

For Tyson, that means he will take on Roy Jones, Jr., 51, who is also a former heavyweight champ.

The Tyson-Jones fight is the first event of a series produced under Mike Tyson's new Legends Only League, a sports venture owned by Tyson and Eros Innovations, an investment group affiliated with Eros International.

Towards the end of the video, he said: "I am back".

"And then I thought about it in my mind and went "ding" - I said I would fight [Sapp under the marquess of queensberry rules] and for some reason, it went from Bob Sapp to somebody else, and this guy, and the next thing you know, I'm fighting Roy Jones Jr on September 12".

Reigning WBA, WBO and IBF king Joshua supports Tyson's return to the sport and hopes it can have a positive effect on boxing. After the last fight I had, I left and I lived my life, and I've been through some experiences, and now I'm back here.

Despite the exhibition nature of the fight, Tyson promised it would be a competitive event as "we're showing our skills and fighting" while saying he wants to recapture the fearsome form he once displayed. And when you think of Roy towards the end of his career, Roy's going to be in a bit of trouble if Mike lands any punch on him. "They're just going to be in there moving around the ring and letting fans see these legends".

Jones (66-9, 47 KOs) is a former heavyweight titleholder but is known primarily as one of the best ever from middleweight to light heavyweight. "They keep calling me, telling me that Mike wants to come back, and that you'd be a great opponent for Mike".
