There was a shooting death Saturday night amid a Black Lives Matter protest in Austin, Texas.

Foster, who Capochiano said was carrying a rifle, approached the vehicle and was shot by the driver. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Garrett Foster, whose mother, Sheila, spoke to Good Morning America on Sunday. She told the news outlet that Foster had attended a number of Black Lives Matter protests in the past and was allegedly shot when he was pushing his girlfriend in a wheelchair.

A witness told KUT that the suspect vehicle had nearly hit protesters before the incident.

"He pulls down his window and he fires three shots into the guy". The man inside the auto shot the victim. "And then rolls up his window and zooms off".
