US Suffers 1000 Coronavirus Deaths For 5th Straight Day

US Suffers 1000 Coronavirus Deaths For 5th Straight Day”

While the risk of severe COVID-19 is seen as relatively low for children, there is fear they could infect teachers and other employees.

The U.S. has reported more than 144,300 COVID-19 deaths in total since the pandemic began, Johns Hopkins University reported.

There were 1,297 fatalities recorded on Saturday (July 26) in the U.S., with the states of California, Texas and Florida hit particularly hard by the outbreak.

New daily cases are increasing in 46 states.

For the past 12 days, the number of new cases being reported each day has topped 60,000.

Although many states are facing the havoc of the pandemic, particularly, 4 states are contributing towards maximum cases in America. The true numbers of both cases and deaths are nearly certainly underreported, particularly in countries with poorer health care systems, health experts and officials say. In response to the increase, Gov. John Bel Edwards extended phase two of the state's reopening for another 28 days.

Mississippi, another state experiencing an uptick of cases, imposed a mask mandate on multiple additional counties, on top of the original 13 counties that already had mask mandates, this week.

California recorded a high in daily case numbers for coronavirus deaths and total cases Wednesday, according to a report in The New York Times.

Globally there are more than 15.5 million cases of the coronavirus, with COVID-19 deaths topping 634,000, according to the university.

Florida set a grim new mark of its own on Thursday: 173 deaths in one day, along with more than 10,000 new cases. Tate Reeves said Friday, according to the Sun Herald.

Heart disease and cancer are the two leading causes of death in the U.S., accounting for more than half of all United States deaths each year, and the statisticians don't expect that to change.

Over the past 24 hours, there have been almost 2,000 additional cases in Alabama.

However despite soaring cases and deaths across the US, White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr Deborah Birx insisted the worst of the crisis could be over for the hard-hit southern and western states.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Nevada just had its deadliest week from the virus. Another 168 deaths were reported, a decline from the day before, for a total of 4,885, the Department of State Health Services said on its website. On average, the state has seen some decline in the number of cases since spikes in June and early July.
