This suggests that this year's CoD game will launch sometime around the date. That fits right in with Activision's regular "Call of Duty" annual release date window.

While there has yet to be any confirmation for 2020's Call of Duty, there have been reports that Black Ops Cold War is in-fact the name. The game might also be the product of corporate drama, with Treyarch apparently taking over after Raven and Sledgehammer fought over the title.

Earlier this morning, IGN's Adam Bankhurst, former Marooners' Rock writer, reported on the newest Call of Duty Leak.

Twitter account ModernWarzone was the first to post the leaks after multiple seemingly random tweets about the chip company. Now it remains to be understood when Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will be announced.

The Doritos promotion is to go live on October 5, 2020 and run until January 22, 2021, soothing concerns that "Black Ops Cold War" would not launch in 2020 at all. Well, at least now we know what to expect from the next Call of Duty title.

TheGamingRevolution received a DM containing these images of Dorito's packaging that shows a Double XP Promotion with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. ModernWarzone also notes that last year's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare had a similar campaign with Mountain Dew.

A separate image from the Doritos crossover also seems to confirm that the game is still on track to release in October, which should put an end to the rumours that the new entry won't release this year after all.
