Seahawks Acquire All-Pro Safety Jamal Adams In Trade With Jets

Seahawks Acquire All-Pro Safety Jamal Adams In Trade With Jets”

After McDougald shared his excitement over becoming a Jet, Adams made sure to congratulate him and let him know that he'll enjoy his time in NY.

However, that all changed as yesterday, Adam Schefter of ESPN confirmed that Adams would be leaving the Jets in favor of the Seattle Seahawks, who are much more of a contending team than the Jets are.

The Jets get safety Bradley McDougald, first-round picks in 2021 and 2022, and a third-round selection in 2021. Last season Adams recorded 75 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception, which he returned 61 yards for a touchdown.

Deal: Jacksonville Jaguars traded Jalen Ramsey (DB) to the Los Angeles Rams for 2020 first-round, 2021 first-round, 2021 fourth-round draft picks.

Both the Jets and Adams appear to be happy with the end result, though. Fitzpatrick became and All-Pro and one of the best safeties in the NFL.

Le'Veon Bell probably won't be throwing Jamal Adams a going away party this weekend.

And yet, I can't help but think about how wild this trade is. Even if the Jets got significantly better this offseason, which they didn't, the Dolphins are a team that is also greatly improved and still almost swept the Jets off of quarterback play and coaching alone.
