Oprah Winfrey on why Breonna Taylor graces O magazine cover”

In an Instagram and Twitter posts, Winfrey shared why she and the magazine's team chose to put the Louisville woman on the front page.

For Winfrey, Taylor's death has given way to another thing she says she knows "for sure".

To date the three officers involved in her death, Brett Hankison, Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, have not faced charges for the March 13 shooting. Hankinson, was removed from the force and has filed and appeal, while Mattingly and Cosgrove were placed on administrative leave. She sort of acknowledged she was there and was really pretty quiet and said she obviously loved her daughter and just wanted to make sure everyone understood what happened.

Winfrey is one of several entertainment luminaries - including Beyoncé, Solange, Gabrielle Union, Lena Waithe, Kerry Washington and many more - who have used their elevated platforms to call for action after Taylor was shot and killed in her apartment by officers using a "no-knock" search warrant. "Plans for a future filled with responsibility and work and friends and laughter", Winfrey wrote on Thursday.

"Breonna Taylor was 26 years old". "They did all of this for nothing, and she lost her life". Breonna Taylor was saving to buy a house.

"We can't be silent", Winfrey wrote in a statement accompanying the reveal. Recently, the 10-time All-Star organized a Zoom conference between close to 40 players and Tamika Taylor, the mother of Breonna Taylor. We have to use whatever megaphone we have to cry for justice. "The September issue honors her life and the life of every other Black woman whose life has been taken too soon".
