Twitter Temporarily Restricts Donald Trump Jr.'s Account Over COVID-19 Video

Twitter Temporarily Restricts Donald Trump Jr.'s Account Over COVID-19 Video”

"We've removed this video for making false claims about cures and prevention methods for Covid-19", a company spokeswoman for Facebook, which owns Instagram, told AFP on Wednesday.

The guild of medical directors, a group of private hospital owners in Nigeria, said the claim by a Nigerian-born USA doctor, Stella Immanuel, that COVID-19 has a cure is unproven.

"But right now today, the cumulative scientific data that has been put together, and done over a number of different studies, has shown no efficacy".

Earlier this year, the United States president revealed he had been taking it regularly to prevent coronavirus infection, despite warnings over its use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is also true that Senegal, where HCQ is routinely used, has one of the lowest COVID-19 case fatality rates in the world at 0.64% compared to 3.4% in the USA.

On June 15, the FDA revoked the emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine after determining it was "unlikely" to be effective in treating people with COVID-19.

Trump retweeted a controversial video showing Dr. Stella Immanuel, a Houston pediatrician, declaring she's successfully treated hundreds of patients with hydroxychloroquine.

During the press conference, Immanuel falsely claimed that hydroxychloroquine is a cure for coronavirus.

"The President of the United States of America, the leader of - well you can't really say the free world anymore because they're picking people off the streets of NY now and chucking them in the back of unmarked vans". Studies have shown the drug does not help with COVID-19 and can cause serious side effects, and as such, Twitter removed the video because it violates the service's COVID-19 misinformation policy.

On Tuesday, Mr Trump posted messages on Twitter that called Dr Fauci a "fraud" and said he had "misled the public on many issues".

But the guild said in a statement signed by its president on Tuesday, Olufemi Babalola, a professor of ophthalmology, that the claims are unsubstantiated and has no scientific evidence. "It's recommendations of many other people, including doctors".

"Many doctors think it is extremely successful, the hydroxychloroquine coupled with the zinc and perhaps the azithromycin", he said. "I think at this point, we can definitively say hydroxychloroquine doesn't work". I would take it. I took it for a 14-day period.
