Samsung looks forward to quantum dot TVs, new game systems and phones”

That's exactly how much the OG Galaxy Fold normally costs in South Korea, making us hopeful that the 5G-capable Z Fold 2 5G will be officially priced at the same $1,980 tag as its forerunner in the US. In the release it confirmed that plan, saying "Samsung will continue to meet demand from its LCD customers until the end of the year and accelerate product development based on new technologies such as QD Displays".

Alleged renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 have been leaked online, thanks to regular leaksters Ishan Agarwal and Ice Universe.

At $1,450, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G costs $70 more than the original Galaxy Z Flip, which was released in the United States in February. This pricier, larger, and heavier Samsung foldable also comes with a significantly larger battery and a more extensive camera setup. Earlier rumors put those displays at 7.7 inches for the internal, foldable display and 6.23 inches for the outside panel (compared to 7.3-inch and 4.6-inch displays on the original).

We had our first look at Samsung's purported Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G smartphone last week, which has reportedly been re-branded from the Galaxy Fold 2 to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which will be unveiled at Samsung's upcoming Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. "Coming to the display specifications, there are claims that the device might feature a 6.23" s-AMOLED exterior display with Gorilla Glass Protection. Also, the back camera setup is vertically aligned and is accompanied by an LED flash, similar to Samsung's Galaxy Note 20.

On the back, the Z Fold 2 5G has a triple camera system featuring a 64MP main camera alongside two 12MP cameras.

This isn't too surprising given that Samsung had recently updated the Galaxy Z Flip with a new 5G model.
