James Murdoch Quits Board of News Corp Over Editorial Differences”

News Corp is Rupert Murdoch's media giant that owns a number of businesses around the world, including Australian outlets like The Australian, News.com.au and Foxtel.

While tendering the resignation, Murdoch also cited differences over certain strategic decisions of the company.

James Murdoch's brother, Lachlan Murdoch, now serves as chief executive of Fox Corp, a slimmed down version of the company that remained after Disney's $71 billion acquisition of Fox's entertainment assets in early 2019.

James, who has publicly said there are "views I really disagree with on Fox", abandoned the company a year ago. While he no longer has an official position on either board, he retains his share of the Murdoch Family Trust, which has voting stakes in both companies.

News Corp.is the newspaper publishing arm of the Murdoch empire and parent of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Postas and tabloids and newspaper in Britain and Australia.

News Corp also publishes major papers in Australia and the United Kingdom and owns the HarperCollins book publisher. "We wish him the very best in his future endeavours".
