Relegated Bournemouth accepts a £41million bid for Nathan Ake from Manchester City

Relegated Bournemouth accepts a £41million bid for Nathan Ake from Manchester City”

Ake " s likel" / City are reported to have negotiated a 40 million fee with relegated Bournemouth, with the deal potentially rising by a further 1 million depending on clauses.

Manchester City have stepped up their efforts to improve their squad defensively for next season as they have agreed a fee in the region of £41million for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, according to Sky Sports.

Some Tottenham fans were even disappointed that they haven't put the money on the table for Ake given that they need fresh faces in defence for next season and they did just let go of the left-footed Belgian, Jan Vertonghen.

If they manage to complete the deal, City would have beaten rivals United to Ake's signature as the Red Devils were also intent on signing him.

The report added that the 20-year-old Spaniard will be a replacement for David Silva who left Manchester City after 10 years in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard wants to wrap up a deal for Havertz so the 21-year-old has more time to settle in west London and prepare for the start of next season.

Ake, 25, has been one of Bournemouth's star performers since making his loan move from Chelsea a permanent one in 2017.

Asked if Ake may have made his final appearance for Bournemouth after the Leicester game, Howe replied: "I think it would be silly of me to comment on that, to be honest, at this moment in time".

It is understood there is an additional £1m in add-ons as part of the deal.

City are looking to get their business done early now that their Champions League ban has been thrown out and they are also closing in on Valencia winger Ferran Torres for £21m.
