Major League Baseball postpones another series due to COVID-19 outbreak”

On Saturday, the St. Louis Cardinals had four members of its traveling party test positive for COVID-19, with four more having what the Cardinals have characterized as "inconclusive results".

The Cardinals had last weekend's three-game series with the Brewers in Milwaukee postponed after St. Louis had one player and three staffers test positive for COVID-19 last week.

The Cardinals new tally includes seven players and six staff members, the team announced on Monday. The team has been holed up in Milwaukee since Thursday and remains quarantined there.

The plan, according to Major League Baseball, is for the Cardinals to "resume its regular schedule on Friday against the Chicago Cubs in St. Louis".

The Cardinals are scheduled to play four games against the Detroit Tigers from Tuesday through Thursday.

The Marlins were the first team with a widespread outbreak of coronavirus.

Two who tested positive returned to St. Louis from Milwaukee by vehicle, while other Cardinals players were isolating inside of their hotel rooms in Milwaukee. It's also conceivable that the teams will play, but will instead just play in Chicago. Now the entire series has been postponed. The Marlins (2-1) have had 20 total positive tests within their clubhouse since MLB Opening Day - forcing their series with the Washington Nationals (3-4) and Baltimore Orioles (5-3) to be postponed. They haven't played since July 26 but are now supposed to resume Tuesday.
