NFL's Derrius Guice Cut by Washington After Domestic Violence Arrest”

"On Thursday we learned of a potential domestic violence-related incident involving RB Derrius Guice", Washington said in a statement on Friday. Guice turned himself in and was seen being handcuffed in the parking lot and then he was taken inside.

The charges include strangulation, three counts of assault, and destruction of property.

The sheriff's office told the Washington Post that the three incidents occurred at Guice's home in Ashburn, Virginia, and were reported in Maryland's Montgomery County Police Department, where the woman lives.

The charges stem from three separate assaults that allegedly occurred at Guice's home in Ashburn, Virginia on February 14, March 13 and April 17, according to Troxell. After learning of the multiple charges against him, reviewing the case and discussing the matter, Washington said it chose to release Guice.

'This afternoon we learned that there were multiple charges filed against Derrius, ' the team said in a statement Friday.

Derrius Guice's career is likely over. The sheriff's office was made aware of the allegations on July 22. Guice was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Guice won't play in any games for Washington in 2020.

Guice is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he starred at Catholic High and Louisiana State University. In the season opener in 2019, he tore the meniscus in his right knee.

Guice, 23, was selected by Washington in the second round of the 2018 National Football League draft but has struggled with injuries throughout his young National Football League career. He battled knee injuries through his first two seasons, appearing only in five games and rushing for 245 yards and two touchdowns.

The victim of the alleged domestic violence has not been named.
