B.C. sees 90 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths

The province has now seen four coronavirus-related deaths in just two days.

Ninety more people in B.C. have tested positive for COVID-19, and two more people have died.

Of the active cases, 13 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19, five of whom are in intensive care.

General public health and fitness is checking 2,594 people thanks to identified exposures to recognised circumstances.

There are no new health care outbreaks, although there are 9 health care facilities with active outbreaks. "In public, around people we do not know, we focus on giving people more space".

On Thursday, B.C. marked a grim milestone in the fight against COVID-19, as the death toll reached 200. "These measures help to shore up a gap that has emerged", adds BC Health Officials. At the same time, the pair highlighted that relatively few people have been engaging in the types of behaviours the new penalties seek to address.

Hospitalizations in B.C. continued to increase Friday.

"COVID-19 prevention looks different in different places".
