Delta permanently bans the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden

Delta permanently bans the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden”

Robert O'Neill, the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin Laden, said he was banned from Delta on Thursday, a day after he posted a photo of himself going maskless on a flight.

O'Neill also claimed that he had the mask on his lap.

O'Neill took issue with her characterisation, saying: "I do wear a mask ... this attempt at a joke did NOT go over well ..."

He also criticized "dumb a-" masks and said the pandemic was "sent to you by China", which were later deleted, the publication reported.

"Failure to comply with our mask-wearing mandate can result in losing the ability to fly Delta in the future", the statement read. He reacted to the ban by saying, "Everyone has gone insane".

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends wearing a mask when flying and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet from anyone who is not from your household.

O'Neill deleted the photo, but it still gained widespread attention - including attention from the airline. Delta says it has banned more than 100 passengers for violating the rule. Masks and face coverings are "a simple barrier" to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when someone coughs, sneezes or talks, according to the agency.

The airline said in a statement: "Part of every customer's commitment prior to travelling on Delta is the requirement to acknowledge our updated travel policies, which includes wearing a mask".

American Airlines, facing a similar confrontation with conservative activist Brandon Straka in June, yanked him off a flight at LaGuardia Airport in NY and banned him from flying with the company.

"I shot a famous guy".

Mask mandates have been put in place by many US cities and businesses this year because they are seen as an effective way to help prevent the spread of the virus.

O'Neill left the Navy in 2012 and works as a public speaker and Fox News contributor.
