Ontario records slightly more than 100 new cases of COVID-19

There are three more reported deaths.

Seventeen new cases were reported as resolved in Saturday's report, for a total of 2,398, or 85.4 per cent of all known COVID-19 cases in Ottawa to date.

The majority of the new cases - nine out of the 15 - were in people under the age of 30.

In addition to 37 new cases in Ottawa, provincial health officials reported two from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, one from Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Public Health and one from the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit.

While the number of new cases of COVID-19 surpassed 100 in the province once again today, Ontario is reporting a slight drop in new infections from one day earlier.

With the 11 missing public health units now having entered their numbers for yesterday and with all 34 units reporting today, Ontario has added 131 cases of #COVID19.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliott tweeted Friday morning that the number of new cases comes after the 11 health unit's that didn't report on Thursday added their cases.

No new deaths were reported Saturday.

Forty people are now hospitalized in Ontario and being treated for COVID-19.

A case is considered resolved 14 days after known symptom onset or positive test result.

Yesterday, the province reportedly processed over 28,000 tests.

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in anyone 70 or older on Saturday.

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 remain relatively low with 40 patients in hospitals across Ontario.
