RDIF Working With 4 Partners in India on Russian COVID-19 Vaccine”

Pfizer and BioNTech recently entered into an agreement to supply the United States government with 100 million doses of their coronavirus vaccine in a $1.95bn (£1.48bn) deal, as part of the government's Operation Warp Speed - a push to deliver 300 hundred million doses of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of the year.

Mexico will receive at least 2,000 doses of Russia's candidate coronavirus vaccine as part of the injection's Phase 3 clinical trials, Mexico's foreign minister said Thursday. Along with Oxford-AstraZeneca and Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech is considered to have made significant grounds in developing the elusive vaccine against the highly contagious vaccine.

"Assuming clinical success, Pfizer and BioNTech are on track to seek regulatory review of BNT162b2 as early as October 2020", said the company statement.

They said that vaccine induced strong antibody and cellular immune response and not a single participant of the current clinical trials got infected with COVID-19 after being administered with the vaccine.

"Assuming clinical success, Pfizer and BioNTech are on track to seek regulatory review of BNT162b2 as early as October 2020 and, if regulatory authorization or approval is obtained, now plan to supply up to 100 million doses worldwide by the end of 2020 and approximately 1.3 billion doses by the end of 2021", written in a Pfizer statement released last night.

A senior pharmacological medicine specialist and expert on regulatory affairs said the Russian entities and their Indian partners would require approval from the drug regulatory authorities to either conduct a clinical trial or mass produce the vaccine. Health officials in the USA are expecting to begin the vaccination programme in 2021.

A new coronavirus vaccine cultivated within insect cells by West China Hospital of Sichuan University in Chengdu has been approved for human trial, according to local government on Saturday.

President Vladimir Putin touted the vaccine as the world's first this month after Russian Federation gave it emergency registration before clinical trials were completed.
