John Oliver ‘honored’ in Connecticut: Mayor names sewer plant after him

John Oliver ‘honored’ in Connecticut: Mayor names sewer plant after him”

It doesn't sound like he would anyway, but John Oliver may not want to visit Danbury, Connecticut, anytime soon.

However, it was Boughton who had the last laugh, reminding Oliver: "And, oh by the way..."

Boughton made the announcement in a Facebook video Saturday in which he argued the new name is fitting because both the sewer plant and Oliver are "full of crap".

The town of Danbury, Connecticut has responded to John Oliver's dig on their town in a very savage way. From it's charming Railway Museum to it's historic Hearthstone Castle, Danbury Connecticut can eat my whole A-.

"I know exactly three things about Danbury", Oliver continued. As he stood in front of the City of Danbury sewer plant, he boldly announced that it has been renamed John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant. "And if you're from there, you have a standing invite to come get a thrashing from John Oliver - children included - f-- you".

John Oliver was clearly skeptical of the Democratic National Committee's strategy of featuring Never-Trump Republicans throughout their convention, joking that it felt like a "Zoom cast reunion" for the 2008 RNC. A message seeking comment was left for his agent Sunday.

In his video, Boughton gets in one final zinger at Oliver, after alluding to a 2017 segment in which Oliver previously mocked the city for making a video in hopes of luring Amazon jobs there, the Post reported.

In his video, Boughton asks Alexa where the best place for the facility would be, and Alexa says Danbury.

The talk show host has run afoul of that city's mayor after Oliver had some not so nice things to say during a recent episode of his show.

In his rebuke of the state and its supposedly racist outsourced jury selection processes, Danbury got caught in the crossfire.
