BC health officials report 58 new coronavirus cases”

Of the 190 confirmed cases, 171 have met Kansas Department of Health and Environment recover guidelines, one current case is hospitalized, and one case has died, the health department reported. Currently, six Shelby County residents are hospitalized because of COVID-19.

"There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths since yesterday, leaving the total number of deaths in the province at 203".

As of Tuesday, the health department has received 7,012 COVID-19 test results. HCEM does not have access to those death certificates.

In a letter to the community released Tuesday, local Health Officer Dr. Dimyana Abdelmalek suggested Thurston County-specific COVID-19 guidance could be in the works. The individual that tested positive will be in home isolation for at least 10 days and 24-hours fever-free in accordance with the Indiana State Department of Health's guidance. "Such information would only be shared with parties who need to know, e.g., people in close contact with the person who tested positive", the website reports.

The breakdowns indicate that 22.3 percent of the county's 398 case investigators are Latino while 36 percent of contact tracers are Latino. They tested positive, that state notifies us of the case, because it's counted as morbidity for the state of South Dakota.

Globally, more than 23.7 million COVID-19 cases had been reported along with almost 816,000 deaths, as of Tuesday. The county's total is now 327 with four deaths.

Six of the new cases are in Brookings County.

Brookings County is in the "moderate" community spread category.

Breakdown of cases by zip codes includes: 185 cases for Sidney (45365); Anna (45302) 34 cases; Botkins (45306) 16 cases; Conover (45317) two cases; Fort Loramie/Newport (45845) 20 cases; Houston (45333) 16 cases; Jackson Center (45334) 16 cases; Maplewood (45340) five cases; Minster (45865) 15 cases; Piqua (45356) six cases; Port Jefferson (45360) two cases; and Russian Federation (45363) five cases. Two people have died in the county.

The number of South Dakotans who have tested positive for COVID-19 rose to 11,425 as of midday Monday, according to the SDDOH.
