Billboard reports Brown suffered "significant injuries" in a vehicle accident Monday night near his home in Atlanta and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery for 12 hours.

"The Git Up" singer Blanco Brown is in the ICU after a head-on auto accident near his home in Atlanta, Ga., on Monday night (Aug. 31). Additional surgeries are anticipated and also his household asks for prayers.

The musician rose to prominence as a hip-hop producer, working with the likes of Pitbull and Chris Brown, before embracing his love of country music as he embarked on a solo career.

Brown earned a 3x multi-Platinum certification from the RIAA for his smash hit "The Git Up", which stayed atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart for 12 weeks.

"The Git Up" was often cited as a companion piece to Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" in a wave of country/hip-hop fusion a year ago. His debut album, Honeysuckle & Lightning Bugs, was released by BBR last October.
