Britney Spears 'appreciates' fans' #FreeBritney movement

Britney Spears 'appreciates' fans' #FreeBritney movement”

In response, Ingham objected to Jamie's public comment regarding the conservatorship case despite his motions to keep it private.

Soon after the public uproar behind Britney Spears' father taking on her conservatorship died down, the pop star moved in with her legal team, in toe, and started demanding for sister Jamie Spears to be removed as the sole responsible entity to her multi-million dollar estate.

When Spears's father stepped down as sole conservator in September of previous year, he was temporarily replaced by a licensed conservator named Jodi Montgomery, who People magazine reports is Britney's preferred choice for the role, as opposed to her father. "Without in any way waiving her right to seek termination of this conservatorship in the future, Britney would like Ms. Montgomery's appointment as conservator of her person to be made permanent".

The court documents, which were obtained by PEOPLE, state that the singer wants a "voluntary" conservatorship, which means she "wishes to exercise her right to nominate a conservator of the estate" and is "substantially unable to manage her financial resources".

"Far from being a conspiracy theory or a "joke" as James reportedly told the media, in large part this scrutiny [on social media] is a reasonable and even predictable result of James' aggressive use of the sealing procedure over the years to minimize the amount of meaningful information made available to the public", said her lawyer Samuel D. Ingham III. "Conservatee wishes to exercise her right to nominate a conservator of the estate", the document begins. It's up to the court of California to decide what's best for my daughter.

"At this point in her life when she is trying to regain some measure of personal autonomy, Britney welcomes and appreciates the informed support of her many fans", the filing states.

The outlet added that the Toxic singer said that there were "no medical issues or sensitive issues with her children to protect" and thus no reason to keep it hidden from the public eye.

In the new documents, Britney's lawyer reveals she now has over $57.3 million in cash, investments, and property, adding: "Due to the difficulties in valuing the Conservatee's Intellectual Property, including, without limitation, trademarks, royalties, copyrights, name and likeness, these assets are not valued at this time".

The star requested that the Bessemer Trust Company, a New York-based wealth-management firm, took control of her finances - an estimated $57.4 million (£42.5 million), including about $2.7 million (£2 million) in cash, according to court documents.

"Transparency is an essential component in order for this Court to earn and retain the public's confidence with respect to protective proceedings like this one".

#FreeBritney organizers were elated Thursday after reading Spears' acknowledgement in the court filing. But to see her support confirmed via a court document was truly an incredible moment for me. "It feels incredible to know that our efforts are paying off!"
