Your worries are set to end. Variety has received word that the first two episodes of the famed medical drama could begin filming as early as next week.

In news to brighten 2020, Grey's Anatomy will begin shooting season 17 this month. In fact, season 16 was cut short by 4 episodes.

For now, the entire team is waiting it out for the pandemic to thaw, so it's still not clear when the episodes will go on-air.

Ellen Pompeo the only actress remaining in the show from the original casting returns for the 17 season.

As a factor in Season 17 storytelling, Vernoff said, "There's joy and fun to be had in people who are quarantining away from the hospital", especially for the docs who, to protect loved ones, crash elsewhere between shifts. The Goldbergs has returned to place with COVID-19 regulations set up.

TVLine has learned that ABC's top-rated medical drama, which saw work on its 16th season come to an abrupt halt last March due to COVID-19, is tentatively scheduled to begin production on Season 17 the week of September 7.
