Amazon finds its Jack Reacher in Titans star Alan Ritchson”

Alan Ritchson plays Hank Hall in the DC Comics TV series Titans.

Amazon has cast Titans star Alan Ritchson in the lead role of their upcoming Jack Reacher TV Show series. Season 1 of the new series will be based Child's first Jack Reacher novel, "The Killing Floor".

The drama series will be based on the character from the Lee Child book series, which was turned into two movies starring Tom Cruise. He now stars in the DC Universe series "Titans" as Hank Hall, a.k.a. Hawk. In his books, Child frequently describes Reacher as being 6 feet 5 inches tall, with hands "the size of dinner plates" - they have also been described as the size of "a supermarket chicken", or "Thanksgiving turkeys". From there, it's up to Jack Reacher to prove his innocence. In addition to Santora, the series will be executive produced by Lee Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan and Christopher McQuarrie, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross executive producing for Skydance. Carolyn Harris will oversee the series for Skydance.

Lee Child never thought that Tom Cruise was the man to play Jack Reacher on the big screen. "I really enjoyed working with Cruise". "However, unlike the 3x Academy Award-nominated megastar, the 6'2" Ritchson is a lot closer to matching Reacher's imposing physical description (6'5"; 250lbs) from the books, which should appease readers who didn't think Cruise quite fit the bill.

What's your take? Is Ritchson right for Reacher?

"We look forward to expanding the of the Jack Reacher universe and bringing more thrilling action to our Amazon Prime Video audience".
