Britain's stand-up comedian Ian Royce passed away from severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure at the age of 51, his family confirmed on Tuesday.

Leading the tributes, the duo write "We are sorry to hear of the passing of Ian "Roycey" Royce. Our thoughts are with his family at this time".

In addition to his role on Britain's Got Talent, Royce also worked as an audience warm-up for the U.K.'s The X Factor and Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

Royce's buddies responded to the news of his handing downTuesday English speakers Ant and Dec were amongst them, tweeting that Royce was a "legendary character" who "will not be forgotten". He was always so proud of you too.
