Donald Trump Bans Racial Sensitivity Training Labeling It

The White House has ordered federal agencies to stop funding diversity trainings, said a memo released on Friday.

"The President has directed me to ensure that Federal agencies cease and desist from using taxpayer dollars to fund these divisive, un-American propaganda training sessions", Vought wrote.

The White House on Friday announced an order to stop taxpayer-funded "critical race theory" training sessions to government workers in various USA executive branch agencies. It is also unclear what drove the White House to issue the memo, noted BBC News.

According to internal documents obtained by Christopher Rufo, the director of the right-leaning Center on Wealth and Poverty, the training courses for government officials have encouraged personnel to "own their racism", as well as to accept their "unconscious bias", "white privilege" and "white fragility". He said the President had been made aware of the "millions of taxpayer dollars" that went to such training.

"W$3 e can not accept our employees receiving training that seeks to undercut our core values as Americans and drive division within our workforce", he wrote, adding, "The President, and his Administration, are fully committed to the fair and equal treatment of all individuals in the United States".

Again citing press reports, the text says that some of the training sessions "have further claimed that there is racism embedded in the belief that America is the land of opportunity or the belief that the most qualified person should receive a job".

Public records showed that these sessions taught workers that white people uphold the U.S.'s system of racism. A detailed set of guidelines on how to implement the ban will be issued by the OMB shortly.

Trump sent over 20 retweets Saturday morning from conservative media outlets and others applauding the move.

The memo comes while tension runs high as the country grapples with racism, amid nationwide protests after several high profile deaths of unarmed African American's at the hands of police officers have sparked outrage across the nation.

Earlier this week, Trump said he doesn't believe systemic racism exists in the United States.
