Trent Alexander-Arnold earned both a PFA Players' Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year nomination with three other Liverpool players earning recognition for their efforts.

City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, the victor of the Premier League Player of the Season award, is also on the shortlist, with Raheem Sterling completing the list.

The Liverpool quartet has been rewarded for the roles they played in the club's Premier League title-winning season, finishing 18 points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

Of the runners and riders from the last campaign, the PFA said in a statement on their official website: "England global Alexander-Arnold, 21, and Van Dijk played in all 38 league games while Henderson captained the side impressively and Mane scored 22 goals in all competitions".

Manchester United duo Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, Chelsea pair Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount together with Arsenal's Bukayo Saka make up the PFA's Young Player shortlist.

Reiten was also nominated for the FWA Footballer of the Year but lost out to Vivianne Miedema who could add to her personal honours tally with the PFA award.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was player of the year for the 2018-19 season, just ahead of De Bruyne.

Striker England scored 21 times in all competitions playing in front of midfielders Ingle, Reiten and Ji as the Blues claimed the domestic league honours and the Continental League Cup.

The nominees for the Men's Young Player of the Year include one from Arsenal and Liverpool and also two from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The winners of the individual awards will be announced on Tuesday.
