Capsized cattle ship search still on hold

Capsized cattle ship search still on hold”

He said he jumped into the water and didn't see anyone else before he was rescued Wednesday night.

"We are updating the relatives of our unfortunate Filipino crewmen every time we receive information from the Japanese Coast Guard who is on top of the search and rescue operation", Bello said.

Japan's coastguard said three vessels, five aircraft and two divers had been deployed in the ongoing search, which was taking place on Thursday in good weather after the typhoon completed its passage through the area.

The cargo ship left New Zealand on August 14, CNN reported, citing the New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

As the vessel headed across the East China Sea it began to flounder and the crew battled to keep it afloat.

The first survivor, identified as Gulf Livestock 1 chief officer Eduardo Sareno, was rescued Wednesday.

The man, whose nationality and crew status is unknown, was taken to a hospital but later pronounced dead, said Takahiro Yamada, a senior spokesman for the regional coast guard headquarters.

"Thank you, thank you". A bundle of orange rope and a life jacket carrying the ship's name were also recovered, according to a coast guard statement. "No other one?" he asked.

On Friday night, the Japanese Coast Guard announced that a third crew member had been found in Gulf Livestock 1. The Gulf Livestock 1 issued a distress call in the early hours of Wednesday from a position 185 kilometres (115 miles) west of Japan's Amami Oshima island.

The cause of the distress was not immediately known, but the weather conditions were rough due to Typhoon Maysak.

"Passing through Japan and approaching Korea, the typhoon could weaken to somewhere between "super strong" and "very strong", the KMA said".

Now cruel vegans have launched an online attack on the crew members saying it was "karma" their boat capsized following their treatment on the cattle.

"His phone was unreachable on Wednesday", Pitogo said, according to the BBC.

The sister of the ship's captain also said the family had last heard from him on Tuesday evening and that he had informed them that water was flooding the ship. We saw in the news that he sent a distress call.

"It's agonizing. It's been two days already".
