Squadrons "Hunted" CGI short here!

Squadrons

While stranded, an X-Wing pilot locates him, and the chase begins through the never-before-seen planet, Var-Shaa's atmosphere, and terrain in an effort to survive.

It's an impressive short, with some fantastic pyrotechnic effects during the battle and chase sequences, and Varko Grey is an easy character to sympathise with, even though he's flying for the normally irredeemable Galactic Empire. While the player will make their own protagonist for the game's single and multiplayer modes, we get to meet a few of their co-pilots in the story in the new teaser - most notably Varko Grey, the leader of Titan Squadron. Varko Grey is an Imperial ace pilot who finds himself as the last TIE pilot on the battlefield, hunted relentlessly by a renegade New Republic X-wing.

Star Wars Squadrons hits Xbox, PlayStation 4, and PCs on October 2nd.

EA and Industrial Light & Magic have teamed up to produce a new CG short film in promotion of the upcoming video game Star Wars: Squadrons.

Waugh also noted how the team took great care "to make sure that we didn't make the Empire something they're not", and explained that Varko "is still a committed idealist and someone who you think is probably a pretty unsafe individual and has done some bad things" who has found "his entire galaxy has just flipped on its head".

As players move up the ranks, they'll earn components to modify and enhance their starfighters such as weapons, hulls, engines and shields; gain cosmetic items to customize their cockpit, ship exteriors, flight suits and helmets; and receive bonuses, all unlocked via gameplay, in a clear path for progression. The game will be fully playable in Virtual Reality (VR) on PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-play support.

EA and Epic Games have collaborated before to promote other "Star Wars" games.

With seemingly no end to the popularity that "Fortnite" has enjoyed for the past couple of years, you can expect to see more similar crossovers in the game's future.
