Google Steps Further Into Meeting Room Space with Series One”

The smallest room kit, with the basic Smart Camera but without the tablet-style meeting controller and microphone pod, will retail for $2,699.

Called "Google Meet Series One", the new hardware includes a camera, soundbar with eight mics and touchscreen remote.

New Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS) Google has partnered with Lenovo to launch a new Meet hardware lineup for video conferencing at the post-pandemic workplaces.

Google is partnering with Lenovo to release its Series One meeting room kits for its videoconferencing platform Google Meet. It uses a 20.3-megapixel sensor with 4.3x optical zoom and offers digital pan, tilt and zoom movements due to that higher resolution. Their new Series One solution is designed for this and comes with Google AI built in-people can join meetings touch free with their voice, enjoy studio-grade audio through enhanced noise cancellation, and benefit from smart capabilities like automatic participant framing. The set includes 4K cameras, audio bars, remote controls, mic pods, and of course, the core compute system that runs it all.

Series one features TrueVoice®, their multi-channel noise cancellation and voice amplification technology that minimizes distractions to ensure every voice is heard. "The Series One room kits provide the kind of inclusive user experience that is at the heart of everything we do here at Huddly, and we are excited to work with Google Cloud and Lenovo to bring these high-quality video experiences to everyone". Audio calibration for room acoustics is also simple; a single touch can automatically optimize the system audio settings for different room sizes and surfaces. Both cameras use Power over Ethernet technology to make setup easy and flexible, with no limits in regards to the distance or cable length. On top of that, the first kit comes with a Speaker Bar with integrated mics and a remote controller, while the second kit includes one Mic Pod and a 10.1-inch touchscreen controller.

The company said that the hardware is always running the latest firmware, security patches and new innovations. The kit will be available beginning at the start of November and range in price from $3,000 to $3,999. Furthermore, the kits are backed by a three-year Lenovo Premier Support warranty and optional Smart Collaboration Managed Services are available.

These kits join other Google Meet setups for sale from ASUS, Acer, and, yes, Logitech. Rounded corners, quality fabric and Google's signature industrial design make Series One a welcome addition to any architectural style. The devices easily blend into any room and come in two color models, Charcoal and Chalk.
