Hogwarts Legacy Is an Open World Action RPG Due Next Year”

"Experience a new story set at #Hogwarts in the 1800s", publisher WB Games teases.

Warner Brothers' FAQ reads that "J.K. Rowling was not involved in the creation of the game, however, her extraordinary body of writing is the foundation of all projects in the Wizarding World". The trailer also teased Hogsmeade and dangers we may face outside the halls of Hogwarts.

The past couple of years have been a rough trot for Harry Potter fans.

The game is also said to be filled "immersive magic", a companion system, skill tree and some sort of choice-based mission structure.

The end of Wednesday's "Hogwarts Legacy" trailer revealed plans to release the game in 2021, but that's a pretty broad time range.

This will be an open-world RPG where players can join Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Slytherin, or Hufflepuff to learn different magic that will be used to fight beasts and Dark Wizards alike.

The "Harry Potter" sport in improvement at Avalanche Software program was revealed throughout yesterday's PlayStation 5 showcase, and it is known as Hogwarts Legacy.

The story will see players take control of an unnamed student at Hogwarts instead of focusing on pre-existing characters from the books and movies.

"It's such an honor to work on such an awesome franchise and the team is dedicated to delivering an authentic Wizarding World experience that both Harry Potter and RPG fans will enjoy", said John Blackburn, Studio General Manager, Avalanche. Although the game was introduced at the PS5 event, it will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

According to the website, the game is set in the 1800s, with the protagonist holding the key to something which could cause chaos within the wizarding world.

In a blog entry presented on Sony's site, Avalanche uncovered its contribution with Hogwarts Legacy.
