Jackson County reports fourth death attributed to COVID-19”

The health department reports the percentage of positive COVID-19 tests has risen in the past two weeks. Idaho's seven-day case average stands at 268.3 per day. Idaho has lost 435 residents to the virus with a case fatality rate of about 1.18%. Updated demographics from IDHW indicate one individual was in their 50s, two were in their 60s, one was in their 70s and one was 80 or older. Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center reported one new case in a resident and is at five cases in total, though seven were reported by the center's administration this week.

The Georgia Geospatial Information Office, using data provided by the Georgia Department of Public Health, breaks down the county's cases and deaths by age, sex, race and ethnicity. Locally, Stearns County had 20 new cases, Benton County had 5 and Sherburne County had 3.

Troup County reported 12 new cases.

There are now 244 people hospitalized with the virus, with 136 of them in the ICU, both up from the day before. The number of new cases reported in a day may not match the difference in total cases over a 24-hour period.

Alabama had the highest prevalence at 36.1%, followed by Alaska and Arizona, with Wyoming recording the lowest figures, with the health agency warning that obesity triples the odds of being hospitalized for COVID-19. At the height in the spring, about 2,800 patients were in hospitals.

The U.S. health agency said college educated adults reported lower levels of obesity than people who did not graduate from college and young adults were half as likely to have obesity as middle-aged.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath.

Testing totals: At the end of the day Thursday, Health and Welfare reported that 282,522 tests had been completed statewide.

Additionally, four more residents tested positive for COVID-19.

Counties with community spread: All counties except Adams, Butte and Franklin have been announced to have community spread.
