Now see up to 49 people, including yourself, in Google Meet

Now see up to 49 people, including yourself, in Google Meet”

Via extensions, users have had this option prior, but Meet's built-in grid has been missing this feature and it is a bit aggravating.

The full roll out for rapid release domains will begin on September 15 while the Scheduled Release domains will start getting the feature from September 2. Google has also added a tile so that you can see yourself. The feature is available to all G Suite customers and users with personal Google accounts.

Google have slowly added to the amount of people that can be seen in the tiled view on Meet but now they've added the ability to see up to 49 other people at one time. To turn it on before a meeting, go to meet.google.com, select the meeting, at the bottom right of self-view, click turn o background blur and then join now. You can adjust the number of tiles you see with a slider. They can add or remove themselves from the grid by hovering over their thumbnail in the top right corner. Users will be allowed to increase or decrease the number of tiles with the help of a slider. Google recently launched a feature that filters out disruptive background noise in Meet. This will only be made available on Chrome for Windows and MacOS at first, but work on the Android app and the web app for Chromebooks is marked as 'coming soon.' For many, many people, this addition is a big deal.

More news: Egan Bernal withdraws from Tour de France

The addition of background blur doesn't need much explaining: it gives your video an artsy, professional quality while also making it harder to notice that you haven't tidied your bedroom in two weeks.

Google on Tuesday also announced screen-sharing in Google Duo. As of today, however, a few more Zoom-like features are on the way for users. As the world is undergoing COVID-19 pandemic and gathering is restricted, most of the people are using virtual way to stay connected to there family, friends and close once.
