Sony Xperia 5 II focuses on gaming, movies and camera quality

Sony Xperia 5 II focuses on gaming, movies and camera quality”

The company is aware of this fact and rather than trying to compete with other brands dominating this segment, it now traces a different path.

As revealed in leaks ahead of the launch, the Xperia 5 II looks and feels exactly like its elder sibling. The phone comes with a 6.10-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080x2520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9.Sony Xperia 5 II comes with 8GB of RAM. But the handset is much more than just a camera smartphone and brings compelling specs with flagship pedigree.

The panel not only boasts a 120Hz refresh rate but also a 240Hz touch response rate to give gamers something to rejoice. The latter greatly helps to reduce the motion blur while watching videos.

Sony Xperia 5 II has IP65/68 water resistance. The vertical cutout comprises three 12MP cameras, something unusual for mainstream companies. "The main cam gets a 1/1.7" sensor with OIS, it and the ultrawide 16mm cam feature Dual Pixel autofocus.

Around back, the Xperia 5 II offers three 12-MP rear cameras with 16mm, 24mm, and 70mm full-frame equivalent lenses that Sony says were created to cover all the main focal lengths that photographers typically demand.

All the lenses are Zeiss with the T* coating said to cut down on reflections for better quality, but once again, Sony's play here is about speed.

The Xperia 5 II employs the Real-time Eye AF tech used on its Alpha range of DSLR cameras (for both humans and animals) and also supports 20FPS burst shooting with the aforesaid feature enabled.

Sony Xperia 5 II goes official with 120 Hz OLED display and other tweaks that will appeal compact flagship fans

Maybe the biggest difference between the Xperia 5 II and Xperia 1 II is the screen.

Fast-Charging, Hi-Res Audio, and...

But would you still get a Sony Xperia phone if it were to ship in Kenya? Both phones support microSD cards with capacity up to 1000GB, and both have 4,000mAh batteries. The new Sony offering is a high-end Android beast from head to toe, and generously employs the company's proprietary camera tricks and audio-visual technology. Sony claims that it can be charged up to 50 per cent in just 30 minutes. The handset has front-firing stereo speakers that are very loud if you prefer the old way of listening to music.

If audio is what's most important to you then there's a standard 3.5mm headphone port to plug in your cans and the device is compatible with Dolby Atmos.

The US will only get the black version, with the Sony Xperia 5 II going on pre-order for $950 on September 29, 2020 and shipping on December 4, 2020.

Those who pre-order Xperia 5 II by November 29 will get a gaming bundle worth over $400 including a gaming headset, a 10,000mAh power bank and 21,600 Call of Duty Mobile Points.
