Disgraced movie exec Weinstein hit with new sexual assault charges”

Disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein has been charged with six further counts of sexual assault, the Los Angeles District Attorney confirmed.

The second victim involves four charges - two each of forcible rape and forcible oral copulation.

The new allegations against him claim he raped a woman at a Beverly Hills hotel between September 2004 and 2005, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Harvey Weinstein has been charged with the rape of two more women in Los Angeles.

The combined charges could bring a maximum of 140 years in prison if he is convicted.

He was sentenced to 23 years in prison, which he is serving at Wende Correctional Facility in upstate NY.

"It takes a tremendous amount of courage to be part of a trial, and we stand in solidarity with the heroic women who have come forward to seek the justice they deserve", the group said in a statement. Initially charged in January for allegedly sexually assaulting two women during separate incidents in 2013, a charge was added in April accusing Weinstein of sexually assaulting a woman at a Beverly Hills hotel in May 2010.

The fallen Hollywood mogul, 68, was convicted of rape in NY in February but is facing charges in California. He was originally accused of sexually assaulting two women in separate attacks in 2013, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles have initiated a request for temporary custody of Weinstein from NY.

Weinstein also accused of raping Jane Doe #5 twice - first, between November 2, 2009, and December 1, 2009, and a second time on November 5, 2010.

'The willingness of these latest victims to testify against a powerful man gives us the additional evidence we need to build a compelling criminal case, ' Lacey added.

Lacey's office is seeking temporary custody of Weinstein from NY so he can be tried in California.

The Silence Breakers, a group of women that includes numerous first to speak out publicly against Weinstein, said they were "gratified to see the wheels of justice continuing to turn in Los Angeles".

Weinstein spokesman Juda Engelmayer said, "Harvey Weinstein has always maintained that every one of his physical encounters throughout his entire life have been consensual".
