Coronavirus Canada Updates: Quebec records 1364 new cases of COVID-19”

As provinces like Ontario and Quebec recorded considerable spikes this week, the country as a whole has reported its highest seven-day average since the beginning of the pandemic.

There was less division over how governments should respond to the second wave of the deadly coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

Ontario's case count fell slightly today to 548 new cases, down from 615 on Monday. Eight new deaths are being reported over the last 72 hours.

New COVID-19 case numbers continue to surge in several parts of the country, particularly in Quebec and Ontario, which account for more than 80 per cent of the country's total cases.

Canada's chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, says even outdoor gatherings can pose a risk, as meeting outside can create a false sense of security.

Later, rising in the legislature, Anglade irritated Legault by pointing to a chart showing the number of cases started soaring on September 15.

Manitoba: A total of 51 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Manitoba on Monday, with the majority of cases in the Winnipeg region (35). One cohort has been moved to remote learning from IQRA School. The second is between the ages of 60 and 69 and travelled from Toronto to Moncton on September 30 and is now in the St. John region.

The province reported 42,031 tests have been processed in 24 hours, and there are another 55,483 tests awaiting results. There are now four active cases in the province.
