Spotify's newest feature finally puts it on par with Apple Music”

Searching by lyrics on this streaming app could be a really helpful feature, especially for the Karaoke fans. Well, not anymore if you're a Spotify user.

The development was announced by Spotify search designer Lina on Twitter, and reported on by 9to5Mac. You can use the feature even if you're in the company's ad-supported free tier.

Sometimes you just have to know which song it was where Fred Durst said, "L-I-M-P Bizkit is right here!" Besides that, the feature is expected to show several results with "Lyrics Match" label, once all the songs as per the input fed into the search bar appears. Spotify users are getting the feature very late as competitor Apple Music has had the same feature since a couple of years now.

It is worth noting that Spotify is not the first music streaming service to gain a native lyric-based search feature. Further, it stated that top 50 most streamed songs in the U.S. and across the world would be showcased through its twitter handle @spotifycharts every Monday. The card you see below is in landscape format, but the interface Spotify built makes it easy to make vertical and square cards as well. As usual, Apple Music was already providing live lyrics feature in collaboration with Genius. The company hopes to launch market-specific weekly charts in the future.
