Saturday’s Missouri at LSU football game moved to Columbia

Saturday’s Missouri at LSU football game moved to Columbia”

Coincidentally, this will be the first time LSU has played at Faurot Field since Missouri joined the SEC in 2012.

All changes will go into effect for the Tigers next home game, a 9 p.m. ET kickoff versus Missouri on Saturday.

If the game is moved to Memorial Stadium in Columbia, fans will be allowed to attend - subject to the 25% capacity limit in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Saturday's game between No. 17 LSU and Missouri has been moved from Baton Rouge, La., to Columbia, Mo., due to Hurricane Delta, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced Wednesday.

"We are closely monitoring Hurricane Delta and are in close communication with SEC and University of Missouri Athletics officials on contingency plans should they become necessary".

LSU already secured hotel rooms, sources said. LSU last squared off with Mizzou in 2016, claiming a 42-7 result in Baton Rouge.

In 2015, LSU had an early-season home game against McNeese State canceled by persistent lightning, but later that season wound up hosting an additional SEC game because of deadly flooding in SC. The SEC wound up brokering a rescheduled game in November at LSU that caused both teams to cancel previously scheduled home games against nonconference opponents.

Brooks Kubena of The Advocate first reported the news Tuesday night.
