OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei leaves company for new hardware venture”

It's almost launch day for OnePlus' next phone and Carl Pei is exiting the company he helped to co-found. Android Central is reporting that Pei left the company some time in the past few weeks and, according to its sources, no longer appears in the most recent organizational chart.

While we await an official response from OnePlus on this matter, images of what are allegedly internal memos sent to OnePlus' staff have surfaced on Reddit, which list the company's leadership structure and have Pei missing. He became a prominent face in the smartphone market following the initial success of the company that started its journey with the OnePlus One in April 2014 and brought the OnePlus Nord just in July this year as its latest model.

Emily Dai, who is now in charge of the company's operations in India, may be appointed as the head of the Nord product line globally. While the emails that are being reported as OnePlus internal mails do not mention any role for Carl Pei, it has to be clarified that there is also no confirmation yet of Pei's exit from OnePlus. TechCrunch reports that Pei will be leaving the company to found their own venture.
