OH added to New York's travel advisory”

Spiking COVID-19 numbers landed OH back on the travel advisory list, which means visiting Ohioans are required to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in New York, New Jersey and CT (a negative COVID test will get you out of the quarantine requirement in Connecticut).

The New York governor chairs to group. To us that's a micro cluster. That's down from many days last week when the rate in those areas was over 5%.

New cases are mapped, showing the greatest predominance of cases in a geographic area, the governor said.

Restrictions in these areas embody non permanent faculty closures, in addition to nonessential companies like eating places and gymnasiums, and are set to final via the subsequent two weeks after which they are going to be reevaluated. The rapid tests can be used to control new outbreaks, conduct surveillance testing, and will also be made available on an as-needed basis to help schools in "yellow zones" test students and staff as part of new requirements to monitor COVID-19 spread as part of the Governor's Cluster Action Initiative, officials say. According to, OH has a 3.7% positivity rate on recent tests, and a positive test rate of 12.5 residents per 100,000.

"Testing tells you the place the instances are, hospitalizations let you know the place the intense instances are, and that's why we monitor the hospitalizations the best way we do", he mentioned.

Cuomo described how the data compares "The greatest number of cases in a micro cluster is only relative to us in NY".

The number of coronavirus deaths in NY remain low, however, with the state saying it had recorded 12 new deaths on Sunday. A cool spot in comparison with the place different states are, proper?

In the meantime, 12 New Yorkers misplaced their battle with the virus, along with 185 sufferers checked into the ICU and 86 intubated people. In New York itself - which aggressively controlled the virus using travel quarantines and other measures over the summer - infection numbers continue to increase.
