The iPhone 12 has 5G and a new flat-edged design

The iPhone 12 has 5G and a new flat-edged design”

Of course the iPhone 12 mini might be smaller, but it has a bigger 5.4in display, as opposed to a 4.7in display, thanks to the removal of the Home button.

While the iPhone 12 Pro Max appears to have similar specs to the 12 Pro's three lenses and LiDAR Scanner, its telephoto sensor is a little different.

In addition to hardware differences between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, there are also some notable software differences. Speaking of Touch ID, there were some desperate rumours that there would be Touch ID on the iPhone 12's power button, but unfortunately not. But here is a quick breakdown anyway: Apple is bringing back the iconic squared-off design for the iPhone, all the new iPhones have 5G and Super Retina XDR OLED displays, none of them have displays with 120Hz refresh rates, Night Mode for all cameras, and all of them feature the new A14 chip which includes the fastest CPU and GPU in any smartphone.

All four iPhones should be more than bright enough to use in direct sunlight without any issue. The iPhone 12 mini is the smallest and lightest, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the largest and heaviest.

Both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro measure 5.8 by 2.8 by 0.3 inches (HWD). Even the most affordable iPhone 12 mini is now rocking a Full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels.

The iPhone 12 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch 2532×1170 OLED screen that's not only larger than the iPhone 11 Pro's display, but also has slimmer bezels.

And while all the new iPhone 12 models have a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits in HDR, typical maximum brightness varies a bit on the Pro series.

On the back, however, there are some important changes - mainly to the cameras. Both have a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. It's also 12MP, but it has a narrower f/2.4 aperture than the iPhone 12 Pro, and it supports 5X optical zoom and 12x digital zoom. Apple also announced a new, less expensive version of its HomePod smart speaker. Storage options will be 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

The HomePod mini will come in white and space grey and will cost $99.

As usual the iPhone 12 mini (and it's larger sibling the iPhone 12) come in "fun" colours.

The new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are set to be released into the world from October 23 with preorders starting on October 16, and the iPhone 12 Mini and Pro Max go on preorder from November 7, and will land on November 13.

If you prefer a phone that easily fits in a pocket without weighing it down, the iPhone 12 Mini is the way to go. Preorders for the iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone Pro Max will have to wait until November 6, with shipping to begin November 13. The iPhone XR has also seen a further price drop: at launch that phone was £749/$749, then £629/$599, it now starts at £499/$499.

We'll see the official unveiling of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max at Apple's "Hi, Speed" event in just a few hours. The iPhone 12 Pro will start from $999 (₹1,19,900) while the iPhone 11 Pro Max will start from $1,099 (₹1,29,900). The Galaxy Note's 5.3-inch display was big by 2011 standards, and nearly a decade later, the Note 20 Ultra has a hilariously large 6.9-inch screen. "These experiences and so much more make this the best iPhone lineup ever". The iPhone 12 Pro will come in four colors: black, silver, gold, and dark blue. In this article we bring you all the launch details, from the pre-order and on-sale dates and pricing (in the United Kingdom and US) to the new features, tech specs and design of the new handset.
