How fans really feel about Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa

How fans really feel about Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa”

Safe to say, we'll be waiting a little longer before we can actually witness Anya Taylor-Joy, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Chris Hemsworth in a Mad Max prequel.

Taylor-Joy is now filming Robert Eggers' The Northman, while Abdul-Mateen II is fresh off an Emmy win for his role in HBO's Watchmen, and Hemsworth is preparing to reprise the role of Thor for his fourth solo film Thor: Love and Thunder.

While details are scarce, the film was written by Miller with his Fury Road co-writer Nico Lathouris, meaning it's very likely it will carry a similar tone to Fury Road. Before you even ask, yes, George Miller is expecting to direct the film.

When Miller was developing Fury Road, he created origin stories for every character, including Theron's Furiosa, which was a new addition to the Mad Max franchise. He's producing with his longtime partner Doug Mitchell. Miller has also rounded up some of his creative team from the last film, including production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt, who all won Oscars for their work.

Gigahorse from Mad Max Fury Road

Miller is now at work on his next film "Three Thousand Years of Longing" at MGM and starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton, and he previously has said he hopes to tackle "Furiosa" after finishing that project. A Mad Max prequel might show us her life in The Green Place before she started working for Immortan Joe.

"Thor" and "Avengers" star Hemsworth" most recently had a hit with the Netflix action film "Extraction".

The 24-year-old actress chatted with MTV's Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and revealed that she's "humbled and grateful" to be following Charlize in the role. Abdul-Mateen II is represented by WME, M88, Ziffren Brittenham LLP, Rogers & Cowan PMK.
