Gallatin City-County Health Department confirms 70 new COVID-19 cases”

Seven new COVID-19 cases were reported in Niagara today.

As a public service, Perry Memorial Hospital & Shaw Media have partnered to provide open access to information related to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) emergency.

Officials said no one had died from the disease since their last update on Wednesday, leaving the provincial death toll at 250, and another 145 people had recovered.

Only two of the new cases reported Wednesday were in long-term care facilities - that bore the brunt of illness in the early days of the pandemic.

A recovered case means that a person who tested positive for COVID-19 has been released from isolation.

The county has had 14 COVID-19 deaths involving one woman in her 40s, one woman in her 50s, one man in his 60s, one man in his 70s, three men and two women in their 80s, three men in their 90s, and a man and a woman in their 100s.

As of Monday, about 79% of all COVID-19 cases from the county were classified as in recovery, according to the health department.

The second smallest weekly increase in number but the largest by percentage was among people age 80 or older, with 11 cases reported this week, compared with four the previous week.

The positivity rate for Kendall County COVID-19 cases for the week of September 27-Oct. Four people are now hospitalized, and there have been four deaths in the county.

People ages 20 to 49 make up the majority of COVID-19 cases in Kendall County, according to health data. Of those cases, 16,824 have been hospitalized with 3,507 admitted to the ICU.
