Joaquin Phoenix as emperor Commodus at'Gladiator' (2000). So, it would be an interesting watch for all movie buffs!

Oscar victor Joaquin Phoenix will play the lead position of Napoleon in Ridley Scott's film Kitbag, in regards to the legendary French basic and emperor. And the forthcoming movie will be about the French Revolution, more specifically, it is going to be a biopic on the life of Napoleon Bonaparte.

David Scarpa (All the Money in the World) is penning the script for the 20th Century Studios project that is being produced by Scott and Kevin Walsh for Scott Free.

It will also focus on his obsessive and volatile relationship with his wife Josephine, whom he divorced in 1810 to marry Marie Louise of Austria.

He had planned to make the movie in the wake of 2001's success in the late 1960s, but found his plans for large-scale battle filming on location to be prohibitively expensive. On October 14th, he wrapped The last duel in Ireland and next he goes to Italy to film Gucci, the story of Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga) who was convicted of arranging the 1995 murder of her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci, the last member of the Gucci family dynasty to run the luxury brand. He remained the second actor to be awarded the Oscar for a character played by two actors.

Last month, it was reported that Joaquin Phoenix and partner Rooney Mara had named their first child together after the late River Phoenix, Joaquin's brother. It would be interesting to see the actor team up with one of the best directors for such an interesting film on Napolean Bonaparte.

According to Deadline, Seesack will be an original, personal take on the story of Napoleon's ruthless and relentless rise to the top of French politics.
