‘Different guy’ Bale in line to make Tottenham return, says Mourinho

‘Different guy’ Bale in line to make Tottenham return, says Mourinho”

During his time in Spain, Tottenham became Champions League regulars, reaching the final for the first time past year.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho believes Gareth Bale can regain the heights hit at Real Madrid and says he will be used predominantly on the right.

"Probably he plays Sunday and, if he doesn't, he will on Thursday", Mourinho added.

"Of course he wants to play", Mourinho said.

The 31-year-old arrived with a knee problem and has been working his way back to full fitness after missing the latest global break with Wales.

Bale rejoined Tottenham on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid last month after seven years in Spain, where he struggled to integrate into the culture and language.

Bale is primed to make his second Spurs debut when West Ham visit this afternoon, having regained fitness following a knee injury.

Kane then capped off a scintillating opening act when he doubled his tally just beyond the quarter-hour mark, rising to meet Sergio Reguilon's exquisite cross at the right post and head home. I can feel even in the players this feeling I love.

"What I will tell you is that he's working very well". All the decisions will be thinking first about the team but never forgetting what is the best for him.

"The last week and this week, especially Monday or Tuesday, the planning of the sessions had a big focus on him". Every player is a very important player, but the Gareth situation is very special because of the history. "But at the same time they are anxious about themselves, 'am I going to play or not going to play?' This is the kind of feeling you have in the top teams and we are having that now". We want him to feel comfortable, to make the decision of 'yes I'm ready to go.' It is more about that.

"The goals they've been scoring have been incredibly good so we'll need to make sure we defend well, but we also need to make sure we punish them like we have done against the likes of Wolves and Leicester".

"I understand the abilities Gareth Bale has got and what he can do, but it would be wrong to think about him and not about Harry Kane or [Heung-min] Son the way they're playing at the moment, because they're on fire".

In addition to the arrivals of Reguilon and Bale, Spurs also brought in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton, Carlos Vinicius on an initial loan from Benfica and Joe Hart on a free transfer.
