Patriots add three players to COVID-19 reserve list

Patriots add three players to COVID-19 reserve list”

Fox Sports NFL reporter Jen Hale discusses the coronavirus impacting the NFL. The New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans have done it, and now one AFC South team is being forced to do it on Saturday.

The Broncos have not played since the win over the Jets, and the game against the Patriots has already been moved twice on the schedule because of multiple positive COVID-19 tests among the Patriots players and coaches over the past two weeks.

The Falcons (0-5) remain scheduled to play Sunday at Minnesota (1-4) while the Ravens (4-1) visit Philadelphia (1-3 with one drawn) and the Jaguars (1-4) entertain Detroit (1-3).

The Jaguars learned of the positive test result on Friday night, and the team is working with the National Football League to contact trace while the positive player is in quarantine. "We have evaluated close contacts, administered necessary point of care testing (no positive COVID-19 results), and implemented additional health and safety measures at UCHealth Training Center, per NFL/NFLPA protocols", the Broncos said in a statement.

The Jaguars said they became aware Friday night of their positive test and, after it was confirmed, the player self-isolated while the team and the league conducted contact tracing.

An NFL spokesman told Denver7 that the Broncos' game is unchanged despite Modkins' positive test. Ferentz has been placed on reserve/COVID-19 list.

"Earlier this morning, we were informed that four individuals within the organization tested positive for COVID-19", the team said in a late-morning statement.

Falcons rookie defensive tackle Marlon Davidson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday and a second person, who is not a player, subsequently tested positive.

Of those three teams, only the Steelers won in their return to action.

9News first reported that Gordon would not play Sunday.

Browns star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was ill and sent home Thursday and not allowed to practice Friday, had his second negative test in 24 hours. While he didn't practice, the three-time Pro Bowler participated in team meetings remotely. That cleared him to play Sunday at Pittsburgh. The Falcons had to shut their facility Thursday but reopened Friday after one nonplayer tested positive.

The Panthers placed guard/centre Tyler Larsen on the reserve/COVID-19 list five days after he played against Atlanta.
