There are 7,95,087 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 10.70 percent of the total caseload, while the recoveries have surged to 65,24,595, according to the data. It has 11,010 cases per million population.

There are 1,13,557active cases of COVID-19 (14.1 per cent of national figure). The state registered 9,060 cases and 150 deaths on Sunday, with Mumbai's share being 1,600 cases and 46 deaths.

So far India has reported a little over 73 lakh confirmed Covid-19 cases of which 63.83 lakh people recovered already.

The fatalities have come down below 1,000 for almost a fortnight now. The TPM is 38,605 with a positivity rate of 5.3 per cent, the ministry said. It has so far reported 7,43,848 cases and a death toll of 10,283. Yet, India's recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 87.8 percent.

Total coronavirus cases in the worst-hit state of Maharashtra have crossed the 15.86-lakh mark.

As part of COVID-19 management and response policy, the Centre's sharp focus has been not only on containing the spread of the disease but also to reduce deaths and save lives by providing quality clinical care to the critical and severe patients, the Ministry said.
