Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches now support Google Assistant

Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches now support Google Assistant”

Fitbit only released its Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches a few months ago, but it is adding new features to them both. The update is rolling out in the U.S. and will expand to more countries soon. Fitbit touts that it's the first company to offer a choice between the two assistants on a smartwatch, and we're willing to believe it - Fitbit is in a special place because of the pending Google acquisition.

Previously, the Google Assistant support was only available on Google's WatchOS. We suspect additional Fitbit devices will eventually support Google's voice assistant, considering Google is buying Fitbit. Once you've received Fitbit OS 5.1, you can switch to the Assistant in the Fitbit app, where you'll have to enter your Google account credentials to get started. See Fitbit's FAQ for more details.

With the introduction of Google Assistant to these devices, Android users would now be able to dictate replies to SMS text messages on their wrists, as well as being able to use the speaker and microphone to make or answer calls via Bluetooth. The latest features are rolling out with the version Fitbit OS 5.1, that comes almost two months after the smartwatch maker released the Fitbit OS 5.0 for the two devices. "Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 are Fitbit's most innovative devices yet and can play an important role in making new information available about your physical and mental health and wellbeing". Blood oxygen saturation levels can now be automatically measured and recorded at night without needing to have a particular clock face activated.

That said, Fitbit said it is developing new SpO2 clock faces for the watches.
